Welcome to the New Hampshire Poetry Festival!

Celebrate Poetry

Join us for the 5th Annual New Hampshire Poetry Festival, an exciting event celebrating the reading and writing of poetry. The festival, taking place on Saturday, September 14, 2019, is organized by two leading New Hampshire literary organizations, The Poetry Society of New Hampshire (PSNH) and New England College MFA in Creative Writing program (NEC MFA).

Beautiful Location, Contemporary Poets

Held in the scenic town of Henniker, New Hampshire, on the New England College campus, the 2019 event, taking place on Saturday, September 14, 2019, will include readings, panels, and workshops by poets from New Hampshire, across the country, and around the world.

This year, we are pleased to welcome our headline reader Ilya Kaminsky, author of the widely acclaimed Deaf Republic, and winner of prizes including Poetry magazine’s Levinson Prize and the Pushcart Prize. Our workshop leaders are Chen Chen, Patrick Donnelly, Maudelle Driskell, and Joan Houlihan.

If you need accommodations, we recommend the Colby Hill Inn (mention the Poetry Fest for a 10% discount) or Henniker House.

Testimonials

  • “You put on such a terrific event. I had a wonderful time, as did my out-of-town friends. Both of them mentioned that the panels and the crowd were excellent. And, of course, Linda Pastan was a marvel.”
